Obsessed with Alice :)

'Alice in Wonderland' opens on Friday! I can't wait to see it ;) I've found some cool stuff on-line:
Oh, Alice! is a cool, crafty blog dedicated to Alice in Wonderland.
Cute Etsy find

Even makeup!

Coloring flowers

I brought some new life to old stamps :) I had a little bit of time tonight to play with these. Sorry the picture isn't very sharp.

New Playlist

I know some of you will be excited to see that I changed up my music. I hope you enjoy! There's a little bit of everything except country, which I like, but I know I'd never hear the end of it if I put it on here. The week has been good so far. I've just been busy working and watching the Olympics like a zombie. Only a couple of days left, so I want to get my fill before waiting for 2 more years for the next one. Am I the only one with the "Olympics Hangover" that they talk about on The Today Show? It's when you stay up late watching them and have trouble getting up in the morning. I wish they'd start showing them earlier but you have to watch 3 different versions of the news. Still coloring! I should post some more pics of my work :) Hopefully I will have some more interesting stuff to talk abt later this week.

Markers

Well, my weekend is ending and I have spent it coloring. It started with the class I took Friday night at Paper Tales. It was on Copic markers and how to use them. I wanted to see what all of the hype was about so I signed up. It was soooo fun. They are amazing and blend just like watercolors. Plus my LSS (little scrapbook store) has had these super cute stamps forever and I have ignored them b/c I didn't get the coloring-thing. I broke down and got a mermaid and a cute girl dancing to her ipod. They have really cool looking hair and that is my favorite part to color. I can make their hair whatever color I want (which is fun because I'm used to people telling me how they want it to look at work). Anyway, I pretty much just zoned out with my coloring while watching the Olympics. I know it sounds like a regression to childhood but it IS hard to figure out the shading and how to add dimension.

Library

I crossed something major off of my to-do list of the last year. I got a library card today. I know that is probably pathetic to some people (mom and dad) who've never had a lapse in library cards. But I am glad to finally have one again. I haven't had one in 10 years or so. I was surprised to find a lot of current titles. I think having a 3 week deadline will help light a fire under my butt.

Had to share this...

I found this on a blog (forget which one, sorry) and I can't figure out how they did it. But it looks so awesome!! Any ideas on how to make these? They remind me of the new 'Alice in Wonderland' movie that's about to come out. That is going to rock! Can't wait!
Anyone watching the Olympics? Go Lindsey Vonn!!! And Shaun White is a bad%$#! I love his hair :) It makes me want to get on the slopes even though I haven't put skis on in 10 years! I don't even own snow clothes. Ok, maybe I'll just watch from my warm couch ;0)

Update on Chris' puppies...

They're so fluffy and cute. We are dog-obsessed. Chris says they are being little biters right now and chewing on everything. I think it's neat that they stick together. And I guess all dogs enjoy the sun :)

Dog Park

We went to the dog park near our house for an hour this morning. I took a million pictures so this may be a long post. Sorry if it's boring for everyone, but Chris will be excited to see them :) Here we go:
Clemmy's usually right by my side.

Betsy saw this tall guy in flip flops and shorts and thought it might be Chris :)

The view of downtown from the park.

This is Colonel Mustard, fitting b/c his coat looks like a pair of cami's. He's only 3 months old!

A lady there had this westie:

and this scottie (my mom's two dream dogs). They were so adorable! And the scottie is a retired show dog.

There were a bunch of cool breeds there today, a pair of frenchies, an english bulldog, a pug, and a borzoi.
The girls would seriously sniff every blade of grass on the face of the earth if we let them. So we call these moments "Sniffers Anonynmous Meetings." This video is when we first got there and they are just getting started :)

Checking out some new friends.

Clemmy (anti-social) is checking out the perimeter, while Betsy mixes and mingles.

A game of chase ;)

Such a beautiful day :)

It was so beautiful here today. Warm and sunny! Everyone was out and about today, in full-on summer attire. The line of cars to get into the zoo was insane. I went to the farmer's market in Hillcrest and it was packed. I got some lettuce, heirloom tomatoes and flowers for myself :) The tomatoes are to die for delicious. The difference in taste between something home-grown vs. mass-produced is huge. I decided to maximize my outdoor time by planting a ton of bulbs in the two beds by the front of our house. Hopefully there will be some big, beautiful blooms by the time Chris gets home :) He is the one with the green thumb in our household but I read that it's hard to mess up bulbs, so cross your fingers. I planted gladioli, white iris', and white echinachea. Here are the before pictures:

Hopefully I will have some good "after" shots for you in a couple of months! I think I'm going to plant my leftovers in this weird spot by my driveway that we've just left empty other than our over-grown bougainvillea. We'll see!

Photo Shoot

I caught the girls sharing the sunny spot by our dining room window. They are such sweeties. So, I kept taking more pictures b/c they were loving it :)

Betsy looks like she's praying.

She's trying to lick me :)

More decorations, before it's too late :)

Yay! I finished another one today. This one was pretty simple. I cut all of the hearts out with my Cricut and then put Stickles (glitter glue) around the edges. I used a particleboard wreath base to adhere everything to. And then layered on some glitter heart stickers. I typed the phrase and printed it out on notebook paper.
The girls and I went on a longer walk today and Betsy did really well :) I'm trying to get her strength and stamina back. It's funny because Clementine basically pulls me the whole time and then Betsy's trailing behind me. So my arms are going in either direction. I meant to bring my camera with me today but forgot. Darn. Maybe we will check out the dog park this weekend...

a finished project...

...and I still have a couple of days to enjoy it :) I have some Stickles drying on another Valentine's Day project that I will hopefully complete tomorrow.
Go Saints! I'm so glad they won!! Did anyone watch that show after the Super Bowl, "Undercover Boss"? I really enjoyed it. The president of Waste Management went under cover and worked some really hard and gross jobs. Next week is Hooters ---> can't wait, we love their wings :)

Scrapping Delay

I really wanted to have some cute pictures tonight! I ran into a few snags today which included: paint taking FOREVER to dry on my project and grocery shopping. I know the last one is pretty lame, but I have been putting it off for a week now and was running out of stuff to eat. Most of my grocery shopping takes two stops: Costco and Henry's. Which forces me to unload at home in between, if I do them on the same day. Thus taking up some time.
I'm also finding out that my creative process takes too long sometimes. I have to sort through all of my stuff and look at a million pictures online to finally come up with what I'm going for.
I did go to yoga this morning (yay). It was a great class, not too full which means she's really paying attention to the details of each pose. I like that she will come around and correct you if you are off (most of the teachers will do that).
One last thing, sorry I changed the playlist but I was getting tired of hearing those songs. I went for music from the soundtrack of one of the funniest movies on earth.
And I will leave you with this awesome idea from the coolest blog . I am so making these this Christmas!!!! Too cute :)

Here are the instructions if you can't wait :)

New Playlist

Does anybody recognize my new playlist?
I'm off tomorrow b/c the city is working on the sewer right behind the salon and we can't use water. Soooo, I plan on crafting like a crazy person and finally putting together some Valentine's Day decorations while I still have time to enjoy them. I will post some pics tomorrow of whatever I create. Yay, I can't wait!

Arts 'N Crafts

Our project at school today. I volunteer on Mondays in an elementary school Special Ed class. These were just an "off-the-cuff" idea I had for this bakeshop "business" we participate in. They turned out pretty cute and weren't too hard for the kids to cut out. I guess I'm obsessed with cupcakes :)
