Awesome Beer

I have been wanting to try this and finally got one tonight. Pretty much the best thing ever. It has a definite banana taste to it. Yummy! Super exciting Friday night :)

Apparently my parents think these are better depictions of me as a newborn. And my dad didn't think I'd actually post them...

I think my parents look awesome in those pics. So retro :) Btw, I got my new phone today!! Thank goodness, my old one was having major issues. I can't wait to download some apps like all of the iPhone people :) And it has a real keyboard so I can text faster.

Field Trip

I took the girls to Fiesta Island today for some fresh air and exercise. It's been raining so much here that we've just snuck in a quick walk or two in between rain showers. I was looking forward to seeing how green it would be. In the next month or two the grass will grow knee-high and that's always fun.

Clemmy can't resist the water even though it's really cold :) She only got her paws wet.

Betsy always stays just out of the water's reach.

Clemmy is anti-social, as usual, and Betsy is trying to make friends, bellowing away :)

The grass is green but not too tall yet.

Betsy found herself a pack :)

It was time to freshen up after a fun morning.

We went to our neighborhood dog wash: South Bark dog wash. Aren't they the cutest?!

Cricut Cake!!!

This is the latest product to come from Cricut and it's going to be awesome! It will cut shapes into fondant so you can decorate cakes. All of my cupcake ppl should check it out :) So neat!!!

Fun night out

Bibi surprised me with Sprinkles cupcakes today, a delayed b/day gift. It was awesome.

Katie, Bibi and I went to Cafe Chloe for a delicious meal. It is the cutest place with a great menu. Very Euro. Btw, we seriously took a dozen pictures before we got this one. It is a hilarious montage :)

Our amazing "fromage plate." Fun night!

Bridgette 32.0

Thanks everyone for all of the birthday wishes!! Chris called this morning to say 'Happy Birthday' and that was such a treat. I can't wait to celebrate it with him next year :)
Btw, in case you are super out of it that little, old man-looking baby is me --> just wanted to share :) Later!

It's been pouring here lately. We need the rain but when we get too much it floods everything out. It's supposed to continue all week. Somehow the dogs and I have timed it just right with our walks and haven't gotten caught in it yet :) They are currently going to town on their new rawhides.

I love how they hold it between their paws. They're so smart!! Btw, I have gone to a couple more classes at Ginseng and totally love it! I really think it's helping me with my posture which has been a focus of mine recently. I started seeing a chiropractor in the fall (he and his wife are my clients) and we've been working on how I stand when I'm at work etc. He took x-rays of my neck and upper back and it is jacked up! But it can be reversed with better posture and adjustments. Since seeing Dr. B I have noticed a major change in the pain I used to have in my back, shoulders and feet. You should check out his website: I love that they combine eastern and western medicine -->so smart.

Hello heaven! I randomly stumbled across this website for a cupcake shop named Mini's in Salt Lake City and they had a picture of these adorable cupcakes. Too cute! Plus their Breakfast at Tiffany's are so clever :)

While I'm on cupcakes, Mere and Jess check out this blog:
Last night I went to BFE Rancho Mirage for a fundraising event for Tara's upcoming Mt. Kilimanjaro climb. It was a long drive but I really wanted to meet all of the people she's been training with. The event was held at this mansion that is owned by a writer for 'Days of our Lives'. It was pretty sick. I'm so excited for her, she leaves Friday. Everyone say a prayer for her and her group! The picture below is of myself, Tara and two other friends who drove up with me, Paula and Heather.

The blog for Tara's adventure is: Check it out!
Later :)

Chris' current pets...

Chris finally called me this morning!! Yay! It was so wonderful to have a real conversation with him. He sounded really good and was happy to be caught up on everything going on here. There are stray puppies at his camp. I didn't get all of the details, but I guess everyone is looking after them b/c they are so cute :) He said the adult dogs are gigantic and it is some sort of local breed (mutt?). I'm glad he has some stand-ins for the girls. Speaking of which, Betsy had a check-up appointment today for her back. She's been doing really well lately, which translates to: climbing stairs on her own, running with each leg moving on it's own (she was doing a sort of bunny hop), and putting her front paws on the couch when she wants me to lift her up (I know, she's spoiled, but it does keep my biceps in good shape:)). Our vet said she looks great and is very happy with her progress. Betsy loves going to the vet b/c she knows at the end of the appt. she gets a bowl of canned chicken. Yum! She is so antsy during the appt. b/c she knows what's coming :) Poor Clemmy though, Betsy and I have to sneak out b/c Clemmy can't come with us. I start off by putting Betsy's leash and collar in my purse so Clemmy can't see it or hear it. Then I give her a bone by the back door so Betsy and I can sneak out the front door while she's distracted. Otherwise she'll try and dart out with us.

I had to include this pic b/c it is so freakin' cute and the bee theme goes with my blog. My friend, Jessica, gave it to me for Christmas. I had seen it at Anthropologie and didn't get it. When I went back to get it they were all gone, so I was stoked when I received it as a gift :) Thanks Jess, you know me too well (she gave me some little scrapbooking things too).
Yoga update: I went to another class today and it was awesome. It was a type of yoga (vinyasa) where you flow pretty quickly through different poses so you build up a sweat. It was intense at some moments especially when holding a lunge, etc. I wouldn't call it a "cardio" workout but definitely a workout. A super hairy guy, sweating like a pig right next to me decides to take his shirt off --> WTF? Besides that I'm getting super into it ;)

quick post

So, I went back to Ginseng tonight and checked out a pilates class. It was hard to get into at first b/c the teacher was a spaz and the guy next to me had blue toenail polish on (weirdo). Plus it was kind of easy at first, but about halfway through it got hard and I think I will be sore tomorrow. I like the stretching and how it's strength-training in a different sort of way. I can see how it's really good for your "core." Also, I invented the coolest recipe today. On my cleanse I can't have eggs or anything with wheat in it (I'm just setting this up for you). So I'm trying to think of different ways to cook chicken and when talking with a client abt breaded chicken an idea sparked in my mind.... Since I can't using breadcrumbs what could I use? Ground up nuts. I used agave nectar to coat my chicken breast and then dipped it into a mixture of ground cashews (I know pretty amazing already), salt, pepper, cayenne (I need a little heat), cardamom, all spice, and ground ginger. Then I baked it at 375 for 20 minutes. Freakin' awesome!!! I should've taken a picture of it for my post, oh well.

Hey, sorry for the lack of a photo. I just wanted to share one really cool thing. I took a "Yoga Basics" class at the yoga studio down the street from me, Ginseng Yoga. I have been curious about that place ever since we moved here. And I'd never taken a yoga class at an actual studio before today, just at the gym. Let me tell you it was a very different experience. The people there are serious about their yoga and because of that it was awesome! I really appreciated the focus and intensity and finally understood why people become so fanatical about it. There was no or chitchatting, the 'Ohm's were for real. I can't wait to take another class. They do a first-timer's special where you can go to as many classes as you want for 10 days. Maybe I'll just go from studio to studio doing that--->just kidding.

PS Big Love was off the hook last night!!! Yes! I'm so glad it's back on :) And I taped the new Anthony Bourdain while watching The Batchelor. Lots of quality tv :)

Lazy Sunday

It was another beautiful day here! 75 and sunny. I went to the Swap Meet this morning and totally got "skunked" (when you don't find anything). I think this is the first time I've ever gone and come home empty-handed. Bummer!! At least I got some fresh air and sun :) 'Big Love' starts tonight!!! I can't wait to see what happens. I dressed up as Nikki for Halloween :) Did anyone see last night's SNL? I love Andy Samberg!! And Charles Barkley wasn't too bad.

This is a layout that I made today. Doesn't Chris look so cute?! I'm really missing him. He hasn't been able to call me since Christmas. We've emailed but it's not the same, I want to hear his voice. For some reason they have internet but no phone, I don't get it. Hopefully this week I'll hear from him :) Later.

Woke up to this

I had kind of heard sirens this morning while I pushed snooze a couple of times but didn't realize they were a block away! The pictures are taken from my front porch. It looked like everyone had been evacuated and I didn't see any flames. Scary! I hate house fires, it's so sad. That is a huge house divided into apartments. There was a news crew there so maybe it will be on the local news tonight. Sorry it's not a cheery post but it's not everyday that there is a fire this close! It was bizarre to leave for work with all of the police and firetrucks (I counted 6), and that block closed off. When I came home some of the windows were boarded up, but it was still standing. Later!

New Year's Card

Not a big post tonight. Nothing exciting or interesting really happened today. I just wanted to share this card I made for my neighbors. I meant to get something to them before the holidays but it didn't happen. So I made a card (using my Cricut, the best tool ever) and brought over the other loaf of carrot bread. I hope it's good since I didn't try either loaf ;) Oh yea, and one week down on my cleanse. Yay, two more to go. Hopefully I've reversed the damage I did in Texas. Ha ha, it wasn't really that bad just lots of booze and my sister's amazing cupcakes (Batter Up Bakeshop in case anyone wants one). Later!

A bunch of random thoughts...

Soooo what do you think of the additions to my blog? Is the music too clubby? I was in the mood for something upbeat. I think the Daily Mugshot will be fun to look at after I've taken a couple. They say not to smile b/c they match up easier when it flips through. But I'm not sure I'll stick to it b/c it's so serious looking :) This is a picture of where Christmas trees go to die in Golden Hill. I jogged by it this morning and had to come back and take a picture of it. It was so fragant!!! It's a Christmas Tree Recycling Drop-Off. I forgot to mention yesterday that I saw "It's Complicated." It was really cute. I want to move into the house in that movie. And eat all of the food she cooks. I am due to send Chris a package. I baked 'carrot bread' for him tonight. Carrot cake is one of his favorites and I thought this would travel well b/c it's pretty solid. It smells so good, I hope it tastes good ;) He emailed me this morning and said that he likes my blog, which mean he can access it. Yay! I'll try and post a little something most days. See you later!

Yay! My first post!!

I've been thinking about starting a blog for months now and it finally came together. My friend, Katie, made my header for me and we sat down over yummy tea and finalized everything tonight. I love how it looks, she did such an awesome job!! I don't know if I'll be a daily "post-er" but I guess I'll post whenever I have something cool to share. I plan on writing about everyday things: my dogs, my house, scrapbooking, neat finds while shopping, and other odds and ends. Tonight I'll just post a cute pic of my dogs with a "shout out" to Chris: We miss you and love you! I hope you can visit my blog!!
(BTW that's a heating pad on Betsy's back)
