Hello Kitty Makeup

As we all know, I still haven't grown out of Hello Kitty. It was awesome when M.A.C. did a Hello Kitty line a couple of years ago. Well, now Sephora has done the same. Check it out.

Can't believe I'm finding this now!!!!

This is the coolest gift-idea magazine... and it's free... and it's online! How cool is that? I've been following the blog of the girl that put this together for a while now and she always shares the coolest stuff. This magazine is no different. You have to check it out :)

Our fall....

I tried to post the first half of this over a month ago but had problems with Blogger and then my computer had to be repaired... so here it is finally:
Here's a re-cap in pictures of what we've been up to for the past 2.5 months. I don't know where the time has gone!

On the way up to Big Bear for our 8th anniversary!

We went to a cool little "zoo" while in Big Bear.

This is out front of one of the hotels, it's Robin Hood themed.

Apple picking in Julian.

Halloween and Chris' decorating handiwork.

Went to Texas for Thanksgiving. And Chris got to hunt and fish :)

Three generations :)

"Puffy" tacos in Texas. Wish they had them here!

Last but not least:
WE'RE PREGNANT!!!!!!! I'm due at the end of May. We're not finding out the sex; we want to wait and be surprised :) We couldn't be more excited!

Good day at the swap meet :)

My loot:

Katie and I went up to the Rose Bowl Flea Market in Pasadena last Sunday. It was huge and the vendors were pretty much all dealers so there was great stuff but the prices were high. We spend all day there and only made it through half the booths! We had one celebrity sighting: Lake Bell. It was pretty cool because Chris and I had watched "Pride and Glory" (which she's in) the night before. She's just as pretty in person. We swung by Sprinkles on our way home :)

On Friday we celebrated Chris' birthday with Katie and Bibi at a new restaurant here called Searsucker. It was awesome! The executive chef/owner is Brian Malarkey who was in the top 5 on Top Chef 3 years ago. He came by our table and introduced himself! So cute :)

I'm such a slacker!

I have been so distracted all summer and have completely neglected my blog! It's all the fun we've been having :) Chris and I are trying to un-do a little bit of that fun and are halfway through the 21 day CLEAN program (it's a detox cleanse, you should read the book). We are feeling awesome and glad to be returning to healthier habits :) Here is a summary of our summer in photos:

Fourth of July in Minnesota.

Chris made Senior Chief, yay!

My sister (and her husband) came to visit :) I'm just realizing now that I didn't get any pics of the 4 of us :(

Hiking :)
Well, that was July. I have no pics of August :( but it was fun!

Our 2nd CSA box:

Our box was brimming with goodies again! It's so fun to get veggies that are different from what I would normally buy. The carrots were absolutely gorgeous!
We've been enjoying the summer that has finally arrived in San Diego :)
A quick list of what we've been up to:
-wine tasting in Temecula
-nighttime zoo
-the beach
-saw "Dinner for Schmucks"
-hanging out with friends

Planned for this week:
-owl walk at a nature preserve
-Huey Lewis & the News concert

We joined a CSA...

So there is a local farm, Suzie's Farm, that has a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program. I've been looking into joining one and finally did. Basically you sign up to receive a box of produce every week or every other week. We go to our local coffee shop/market to pick it up. The box is packed with whatever they harvest that week. And the bonus is that this farm is organic :) I'm so excited. We went to a dinner Thursday night for CSA ppl and got to hear all about the farm and meet some fellow CSA ppl. I'm excited to try some new things and have the challenge of cooking whatever's in our box. The other cool thing is that we are helping to support local farmers. We get our first box next week!

Fair time!

We went to the fair this weekend and it was so much fun! We loved looking at the 4-H part with all of the livestock. The rabbits were my favorite :) They even had guinea pigs there. We hit up the ferris wheel and a couple of fun houses. And of course you have to do the "fair food." I had a tough time making my decision. It was between the following deep-fried goodies: pop tart, oreo, twinkie, s'mores, and klondike. Next year I'm going for the butter!

Blog spotlight

Just checking in to say HI! And wanted to share another cool blog that I like.

Take a look at: Annette Tatum
She's a home linens designer but does decorating and other cool stuff. My friend, Katie, and I went to a book signing and got to meet her. She was really nice and down-to-earth. Again, it's another blog that stimulates my creativity. She has neat inspiration pics and other cool ideas for your home.

Going "savage"

Got a spray tan today and holy crap! Check out my Daily Mugshot from today. This is the tannest I've ever been. Yes! (Btw just learned the term "savage" to describe a super dark tan.)

Blog Love

After a conversation I had today at Paper Tales, I decided I would share some of my favorite blogs, just in case anyone's interested. I had been thinking about doing this since I have found some pretty cool one's. Some are kind of random but they all feed my creative side in some way. Plus I think I'm kind of nosey and like reading about people's lives :) hee hee! I think I will just add them in here and there, and probably just take them alphabetically off of my 'Bookmark' list (yes I am crazy and have them alphabetized).

A Beautiful Mess

I love this girl, Elsie's retro style. The photos she shares, her art, and just her look in general are a creative inspiration for me.

Our Sunday:

Betsy wasn't around for the video, she took Clemmy's place in the sun :)

We had a nice relaxing day that started out with delicious coffee and the Swap Meet and ended with sushi with friends :)

Meet Kramer!

This is the newest member of our family:

Isn't he the cutest thing?! My brother and his girlfriend just got him, he's 2.5 months old now (I think). I love him already.
He looks like his cousin, Cassie, my sister and her husband's dog:

She's almost 2 years old now!
Now my siblings will finally understand our obsession with our dogs :)

Garden 2010

Here are some pics of our garden taken a couple of weeks ago. So far we've only harvested some jalapenos and Fresno chilis. But we have some Roma tomatoes that should be ready before long :)

Our Sauce & Salsa garden:

Our container garden with the rest of our herbs, including the Lemon Basil, yum!

Basset Party!!

Finally uploaded all of our pics. I'll start from the most recent and work my way back.
We attended the San Diego Basset Rescue Picnic yesterday. It was awesome to see all of the other Bassets. There were probably about 100 there. So nice to have the slobber, droopy red eyes and howling accepted as normal :)

Chris and Clemmy.

Leo the 110 lb. basset!!

A sweet, silvery old one :)

What up?

Couple of quick things since I've been a slacker lately (sorry, having the hubby home is a distraction :) ).
My new fav herb: lemon basil. Bought the plant on a whim at the nursery and have been using it in salads and sauces. It is amazing! Tastes kind of like lemon grass but with a touch of basil. Yum :)
My new worst movie: Wolfman. I'm trying to sit through it right now but it totally sucks. Disappointment b/c I {heart} Benicio Del Torro.
My latest splurge to see in the theater: Sex and The City of course! Saw it with my best gals last weekend. Loved it! Completely entertaining but still like the first one better.
My latest house project: removing two trees (pics to come). Our house looks so bare now!! But they had to go as they were interfering with our foundation, etc.

Btw, finally got the camera cord and will download pics to share tomorrow. Also want to share pics of my bro's puppy (the cutest ever!).

Ummmm, this kid is rad...

While blog surfing and watching "So You Think You Can Dance" I came across this darling little girl. Seriously, what a creative and cool little girl. I can't believe she makes art journals and has her own blog.

Check her out here. You are going to love her blog and all of the cute stuff on it.

PS Those Blythe dolls are awesome . I think they are way cooler than American Girls.

Here's a new card I made of me doing yoga :)
